Malawi ex-minister Jappie Mhango gets bail; DPP deputy faces assault charges post-arrest.

Former Malawi Cabinet Minister and DPP vice president, Jappie Mhango, was granted bail after being arrested for abuse of office and providing false information. Meanwhile, DPP's Deputy Director Bonface Kashololo appeared in court charged with assaulting a journalist and intimidating police, following Mhango's arrest. The court has reserved its ruling on Kashololo's bail application for two weeks.
