flag BMW's first electric M3, expected as the i3, spotted with a design close to the 2023 Vision Neue Klasse concept.

The first-ever electric BMW M3, expected to be badged i3, has been spotted with a more production-ready body. It closely follows the 2023 Vision Neue Klasse concept, featuring a long, flat bonnet and boot lid, and a wide double kidney grille. The M3 will have deeper side windows, bulging wheel-arches, and is expected to generate around 746kW (1000hp), quicker to 100km/h than the current M3 CS. It will use BMW's Neue Klasse EV architecture, with the i3 expected in 2026 and the M3 in 2027-2028.
