Norwegian Cruise Line's Norwegian Epic faced a chaotic incident in Catania, Sicily, when severe 60-mph winds broke its moorings, stranding over 3,600 passengers ashore for seven hours. A female passenger fell from the gangway, sustaining minor injuries. Passengers were frustrated with the lack of communication and support from the cruise line. The ship eventually returned to port and passengers were able to reboard that evening after the mooring lines were replaced.
