North Dakota installs modern toilets at twelve historic sites, spending about $150,000 per site.
North Dakota's State Historical Society is almost finished installing flush toilets at its twelve most popular, staffed historic sites.
Recently, flush toilets were added to the Lawrence Welk Homestead, and installations at Whitestone Hill and Fort Buford are set to be completed by the end of June.
Each upgrade costs approximately $150,000, and less-visited, unstaffed sites will not receive the upgrades.
