Vodafone has finalized its £15 billion merger with Three UK, creating a new mobile giant named VodafoneThree. Announced in June 2023, the merger was approved by the Competition and Markets Authority with conditions, including a requirement to invest billions in expanding a combined 5G network. Vodafone owns 51% of the new company and plans to invest £11 billion over ten years to enhance 5G capabilities, with £1.3 billion allocated for this financial year. The merger aims to deliver £700 million in annual savings within five years.
