UK Conservatives demand armed prison officers to combat violent inmates and staff attacks.

The UK's Conservative Party is calling for specialist prison officers to be armed with Tasers, stun grenades, and in some cases, lethal weapons, to tackle "out of control" Islamist gangs and violent prisoners. Shadow Justice Secretary Robert Jenrick also wants high-collar stab vests for frontline officers, citing recent attacks on prison staff. The government is conducting a review on stab vest usage and plans a summer trial for Tasers.
