Former Goldman Sachs banker Tim Leissner was sentenced to two years in federal prison for his role in stealing over $4.5 billion from Malaysia's 1MDB investment fund.
Leissner, who helped raise $6.5 billion through bond sales, admitted to bribing officials and laundering the stolen money into luxury purchases and a Hollywood film.
His actions contributed to the downfall of Malaysia's former Prime Minister Najib Razak.
