The U.S. Coast Guard recently offloaded over 28,500 pounds of cocaine worth more than $211 million at Port Everglades in Florida.
The drugs were seized during four separate operations in the Eastern Pacific Ocean over 10 days by the crew of the Thetis, a 270-foot cutter, with help from an MH-65 Dolphin helicopter crew.
The Coast Guard emphasized that each kilogram of seized drugs represents lives saved.
