Trooper rescues hypothermic man from icy Alaskan river, spends 30 minutes in freezing water.
A man was rescued from the icy Tanana River near Nenana, Alaska, by Trooper Nathan Hollenbeck.
The man, suffering severe hypothermia, couldn't hold onto a tow strap, so Hollenbeck rappelled into the water to keep him afloat for about 30 minutes until a boat arrived.
Both were treated for hypothermia at a hospital.
Hollenbeck credits his training for aiding in the successful rescue.
