S. Jack Hu, former UGA provost, appointed new chancellor of University of California, Riverside.

S. Jack Hu, the provost of the University of Georgia, has been appointed as the new chancellor of the University of California, Riverside, starting July 15. Born in China, Hu has over 40 years of experience in higher education, including roles at the University of Michigan and the University of Georgia, where he helped increase research spending. He succeeds retiring Chancellor Kim Wilcox. Hu faces challenges such as federal funding cuts and a Department of Justice investigation.
