Alberta is implementing new rules by fall to ensure only age-appropriate books are available in school libraries, following the discovery of graphic novels with explicit sexual and LGBTQ+ content in schools in Edmonton and Calgary. Education Minister Demetrios Nicolaides is developing new standards and will seek input from Albertans through an online survey. The rules will apply to various school types but not public libraries.
