Illinois recently passed a bill in the Senate that restricts the use of AI like ChatGPT as the sole teaching tool in community colleges, while allowing it to support human instructors. The bill, which passed 46-12, follows a case at Northeastern University where a student demanded a refund after discovering AI-generated lecture notes. It still needs approval from the Illinois House and Governor Pritzker.
