This statement came during meetings with an Indian all-party delegation led by Shashi Tharoor, visiting Guyana to brief on India's response to recent terrorist attacks and to strengthen bilateral ties. The delegation also discussed economic cooperation, highlighting Guyana's rapid economic growth following oil discoveries. Both Jagdeo and Prime Minister Mark Phillips condemned terrorism and expressed support for India's stance.
