Former police chief Grant Hardin, serving multiple sentences for murder and rape, has escaped from a prison in Calico Rock, Arkansas. Hardin, who was the police chief of Gateway and has been held since 2017, pleaded guilty to murder in 2017 and is serving 50 years for a 1997 rape. The Arkansas Department of Corrections and multiple law enforcement agencies are working to locate him.
