Dr. Bryan Acheampong, a former Ghanaian Minister of Food and Agriculture and current Member of Parliament, has declared his candidacy for the New Patriotic Party's (NPP) flagbearer position for the 2028 general elections. Acheampong, who has the backing of several prominent party members, has been actively engaging with communities, including donating GH¢300,000 to victims of the Adum-Blue Light fire disaster in Kumasi. His candidacy is seen as a move to unify and strengthen the NPP ahead of the elections.
