Bollywood actor Dino Morea has been questioned by Mumbai's Economic Offences Wing (EOW) in connection with a ₹65 crore Mithi River desilting scam. The investigation involves allegations of financial irregularities, including fake bills and memorandums of understanding, used to misappropriate funds intended for cleaning the river. Morea's involvement came to light due to phone conversations with his brother and other key figures in the case. The scam is believed to have caused significant financial losses to the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC).
