Real Madrid has appointed Xabi Alonso as their new head coach, effective June 1, 2025. Alonso, a former Real Madrid player from 2009 to 2014, signed a three-year contract through 2028. He replaces Carlo Ancelotti, who left to become the Brazil national team coach. Alonso, known for leading Bayer Leverkusen to a league and cup double, will be officially presented on Monday and will lead the team in the upcoming Club World Cup.
