Man charged with killing cats over six months in Southern California faces up to four years in jail.
Alejandro Oliveros Acosta, a 46-year-old Southern California man, has been charged with animal cruelty, theft of a companion animal, and possession of a controlled substance.
Acosta is accused of luring cats with food, kidnapping them, and beating them to death.
Between November 2024 and April 2025, seven dead or injured cats were reported to Santa Ana Animal Control.
If convicted, he faces up to four years and four months in jail.
