Indian author Banu Mushtaq and translator Deepa Bhasthi won the International Booker Prize for their book "Heart Lamp," a collection of 12 short stories about Muslim women and girls in southern India navigating caste and class.
It marks the first time a short story collection and a book translated from Kannada have won the prize.
The £50,000 award is split equally between the author and translator.
