RCMP investigate shooting at electricity substation, causing power outages and a significant oil leak.

RCMP are investigating an incident in which an electricity substation near Lloydminster was shot at, causing a power outage for over 8,400 residents and an oil leak of about 20,000 liters. The damage and cleanup costs are estimated at $1.1 million. Atco Electric is working with an environmental company to mitigate impacts. Police are also looking into break-ins that occurred during the outage but have not found a connection.
