Florence County deputy dies after a crash on Olanta Highway; two dead in separate UTV incident.

A Florence County deputy died after a crash on Olanta Highway on Tuesday afternoon. The deputy was driving a Ford SUV when it collided with a GMC SUV around 4:20 p.m. Both drivers were taken to a hospital, but the deputy succumbed to injuries. The South Carolina Highway Patrol is investigating. In a separate incident in Darlington County, two people died when a Kawasaki UTV struck a tractor-trailer early Tuesday morning. The identities of the deceased have not been released, and the crash is under investigation.
