Vancouver Whitecaps goalkeeper Yohei Takaoka made five saves, recording his sixth MLS shutout of the season, to help secure a scoreless draw against Austin FC. Despite being outshot 16-5, Takaoka's strong performance, including a key save in the 83rd minute, helped extend Vancouver's unbeaten streak to 11 games. Both teams' goalkeepers had solid performances, each securing their sixth shutout of the year.
