flag Starting May 26, India's Supreme Court ends senior judges' summer break to expedite cases.

The Chief Justice of India, BR Gavai, has abolished the tradition of senior judges not holding court during summer vacation. Starting May 26 to July 13, the Supreme Court will operate with two to five benches daily, up from the usual two, and now including the most senior judges. The Registry will work extended hours, except on weekends and holidays, marking a significant shift in the court's operational practices.
