Jeep driver arrested for DUI and negligent homicide after hitting and killing pedestrian in Hawaii.

A 21-year-old pedestrian, Maxwell Robertson Sherwood, was killed after being struck by a Jeep Wrangler in Kurtistown, Hawaii. The driver, 30-year-old Dallas Brooks, was arrested for suspected DUI and first-degree negligent homicide. Witnesses reported that Sherwood was in the roadway and not in a crosswalk when he was hit. This incident is the 13th traffic fatality on the island this year.
