A tornado hit southeastern Kentucky, killing at least 14 people and damaging multiple areas.

A powerful tornado struck southeastern Kentucky late Friday night, causing at least 14 deaths and widespread destruction. Nine of the fatalities occurred in Laurel County, with the locations of the other victims remaining unclear. The tornado touched down around 11:49 p.m., damaging areas such as Keavy Road, Old Whitley Road, and the London Corbin Airport. Governor Andy Beshear announced the death toll, which is expected to rise as the assessment continues.
