Robert Walls, a legendary AFL player and coach, has passed away at 74 after using Victoria’s assisted dying laws following a cancer diagnosis.
Walls, a member of the Australian Football Hall of Fame, played in Carlton’s premiership teams in 1968, 1970, and 1972, and coached the club to victory in 1987.
He played 259 games for Carlton and Fitzroy.
A memorial service is planned at the Melbourne Cricket Ground.
