Romania's Transelectrica sees profit surge despite revenue drop; Hidroelectrica reports sharp profit fall.

Romania's national grid company, Transelectrica, saw a 52% rise in net profit to RON158 million in Q1 2025, despite a 29% drop in revenues to RON1.4 billion. The increase in profit is attributed to cost optimization and efficient operations, while the revenue decline is linked to lower electricity consumption. Meanwhile, Hidroelectrica, the country's largest power producer, reported a 56% drop in net profit to RON589 million due to decreased energy production and revenues falling 26% to RON1.9 billion.
