India plans to supply water to Rajasthan's drought-stricken districts via a new underground pipeline.

Union Jal Shakti Minister CR Patil and Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar have discussed plans to supply water to water-scarce districts in Rajasthan. The Yamuna Water Agreement, signed in 1994, will now see action with the appointment of a consultant to prepare a project report for transporting water through an underground pipeline. This move aims to resolve long-standing water shortages in Jhunjhunu, Sikar, and Churu districts.
