IEA predicts electric vehicle sales to reach over 25% of global car sales in 2025, led by China.

The International Energy Agency (IEA) predicts that electric vehicle (EV) sales will continue growing despite trade uncertainties, with over one in four cars sold this year expected to be electric. China remains the leader, accounting for almost two-thirds of global EV sales. Despite slower growth in Europe and the US, emerging economies in Asia, Latin America, and Africa have seen rapid EV sales growth, increasing by over 60% year-on-year. The IEA notes that tariffs could impact both EV and conventional car sales, but the Chinese market shows resilience due to political support and competitive prices.
