Former China National Petroleum Corporation (CNPC) Chairman Wang Yilin was sentenced to 13 years in prison and fined 3 million yuan ($416,667) for bribery. The conviction, reported by state-run CCTV, stems from illegal gains of over 35 million yuan from 1996 to 2020, involving job adjustments and project contracts. Wang was also expelled from the Communist Party in 2024 for discipline violations.
