Alabama adds card-locking and fraud alert features to SNAP EBT cards to fight fraud.

The Alabama Department of Human Resources (DHR) has added new security features to EBT cards for SNAP beneficiaries to combat fraud. Users can now lock and unlock their cards through the ConnectEBT app or website and sign up for fraud alerts via text, email, or the app. Two lock options are available: locking the card everywhere, including online, or only at stores outside Alabama, allowing for online purchases within the state.
