UTC's softball team lost to Mercer in the SoCon tournament finals, missing out on the title.

The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga's softball team, the Mocs, lost twice to Mercer University in the Southern Conference (SoCon) tournament, missing out on the tournament title. Despite a strong season and numerous accolades, including Peja Goold being named SoCon Pitcher of the Year, the Mocs couldn't overcome Mercer's late-game rallies. Mercer won both games, securing their first SoCon Tournament title.
