FAA partners with colleges to fast-track air traffic controllers amid severe staffing shortage.
The U.S. is experiencing its worst air traffic controller shortage in nearly 30 years, with over 3,000 positions vacant, leading to flight delays.
To address this, the FAA has teamed up with five colleges, including Tulsa Community College, to fast-track graduates into the field through the Air Traffic-Collegiate Training Initiative Program.
This program allows students to bypass the first five weeks of FAA training but must still meet rigorous requirements and pass skills assessments.
