Lisa Van Hefty, a special education teacher at O.H. Schultz Elementary School in Mishicot, Wisconsin, has been named one of the state's 2026 Teachers of the Year. With 27 years of experience, Van Hefty was honored for her commitment to inclusive education and student advocacy. The award was presented during a surprise school assembly attended by students, staff, and family. She is one of five teachers statewide to receive this recognition.
