16-year-old Charlie Woods, son of golf legend Tiger Woods, failed to advance to the U.S. Open's final qualifying stage, scoring a 3-over 75 at Wellington National Golf Club in Florida. This score was seven strokes above the qualifying mark. Despite the setback, Charlie's performance was better than his previous year's score of 9-over 81. The U.S. Open, scheduled for June 12-15 at Oakmont, saw a record 10,202 entries.
