Mexico sues Google over naming the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America" for U.S. users.

Mexico has filed a lawsuit against Google, claiming the tech company violated its sovereignty by labeling the Gulf of Mexico as the "Gulf of America" on Google Maps for US users. The name change followed an executive order by former US President Donald Trump. Mexico argues the new name should only apply to the part of the gulf over the US continental shelf. Google has not yet commented on the lawsuit but currently uses different labels for the gulf depending on the user's location.
