New Zealand's Minister of Regional Development, Shane Jones, visited a flood protection site in Wairarapa, part of the region's $101 million Flood Resilience Programme. The project aims to protect local infrastructure and create jobs while reducing flooding risks. The initiative includes five completed projects in Wairarapa and 42 others across New Zealand, funded by the Regional Infrastructure Fund.
