Larvey Woods, 79, was sentenced to life in prison for murdering Essie Meadows in Pike County, Alabama, in July 2023. Woods, who had been in a dating relationship with Meadows, pleaded guilty to the crime. On the day of the murder, he ambushed and shot her multiple times. Woods had two prior violent felony convictions and was recently arrested for a domestic violence misdemeanor involving Meadows.
