Sturgeon County, Alberta has ordered the evacuation of an area east of Redwater due to an active wildfire near the Redwater Provincial Recreation Area. The fire, which began over the weekend due to an all-terrain vehicle malfunction, has prompted high fire activity because of windy and dry conditions. Residents on Range Road 211 to Range Road 203 and between Township Road 580 to Township Road 573 must evacuate and are advised to prepare to be away from home for at least three days, bringing important documents and medications.
