Connecticut implements Purple Alert system to locate missing adults with cognitive disabilities.
Connecticut has launched a Purple Alert system to locate missing persons with cognitive disabilities such as autism or intellectual developmental disorders.
Launched in January 2024, the system targets individuals aged 18 to 65 and aims to locate them within 24 to 48 hours.
It complements the existing Bring Me Back Home registry, which helps authorities identify missing individuals by using family-provided information.
Over a dozen alerts have been issued since its implementation.
