Agudosi Okechukwu was sentenced to six months in prison by a Federal High Court in Lagos for failing to declare £8,020 and $704 to Nigerian Customs at Lagos Airport.
Okechukwu pleaded guilty to charges brought by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) for money laundering.
The court also ordered the seized funds to be forfeited to the federal government.
