West Leagues secured a 38-30 victory over Souths in the Newcastle championship netball, thanks to the half-time arrival of multi-sport player Sammie Chicken. Despite trailing 24-23 in the final period, West Leagues, led by coach Tracey Baggs, managed to turn the game around. Souths were short-handed, missing key players.
