Pakistani cement sales and exports surge in April, but industry seeks government support.

Pakistani cement sales rose 7.64% in April 2025, with exports up 34.56% year-over-year, according to the All Pakistan Cement Manufacturers Association (APCMA). Total despatches hit 3.342 million tons, up from 2.951 million tons in April 2024. Despite the increase, the APCMA calls for government support to boost construction and global competitiveness, noting about one-third of industry capacity remains idle.
