They designated first baseman Bobby Dalbec for assignment; Dalbec, who hit .222 in seven games with the team, can choose to become a free agent if he is outrighted to Triple-A Charlotte. The team also recalled left-hander Tyler Gilbert and selected right-hander Caleb Freeman from Charlotte, while placing lefty reliever Fraser Ellard on the 15-day injured list and optioning right-handed reliever Penn Murfee to Charlotte.
