Woodfibre LNG has applied to add a second floating workers' accommodation, or 'floatel', near Squamish, B.C., to house up to 900 more workers, speeding up the construction of its liquefied natural gas export facility.
The first floatel, MV Isabelle X, is already in place.
If approved, the project aims to complete its facility by 2027, producing 2.1 million tonnes of LNG annually for export.
This addition is intended to minimize impacts on the local community.
