Marysville Police Chief Christian Sachs announced his retirement following the death of Officer Osmar Rodarte, who was killed in March while serving a warrant in a drug trafficking investigation. Sachs, who has served the department since 2001, said Rodarte's death deeply affected him. Lt. Vance Nabeta will take over as acting chief. The exact date of Sachs' retirement is expected to be in May.
