Eleven Syracuse high school lacrosse players face charges after staging a fake kidnapping as a hazing prank.
Eleven high school lacrosse players from Syracuse, New York, have turned themselves in over a hazing incident, avoiding more serious kidnapping charges. The students, ranging in age from 14 to 18, tricked younger players into thinking they were going to McDonald's after a game, but instead staged a fake kidnapping involving a gun and knife, binding one student and putting him in the trunk of a car. They face misdemeanor charges of unlawful imprisonment. The school has canceled the rest of the varsity boys' lacrosse season.
