The Chicago Cubs recalled pitcher Chris Flexen from Triple-A to strengthen their bullpen.

The Chicago Cubs have recalled right-hander Chris Flexen from Triple-A Iowa to bolster their bullpen. Flexen, previously with the White Sox, has shown significant improvement, posting a 1.13 ERA recently. To make room, the Cubs optioned left-handed reliever Tom Cosgrove back to Triple-A and moved Javier Assad to the 60-day injured list. Flexen is expected to fill a long-relief role for the Cubs.
