Temu adds import charges of up to 145% on Chinese items, raising prices above U.S.-labeled goods.
Temu, an online shopping platform, has started adding "import charges" of about 145% on certain items in response to President Trump's tariffs.
These charges cover customs-related costs and fees, causing some items from China to cost more than those made in the U.S. but labeled as "local" on Temu's website.
A CNBC analysis showed that a dress originally priced at $18.47 had an additional $26.21 charge, totaling $44.68.
