GM recalls nearly 600,000 vehicles due to potential engine defects that could cause failure.
General Motors has recalled nearly 600,000 vehicles in the US, including Cadillac Escalades, Chevrolet Silverado 1500s, Suburbans, Tahoes, GMC Sierra 1500s, Yukons, and Yukon XLs from model years 2021 to 2024. The recall is due to potential defects in the engine's connecting rod or crankshaft, which could cause engine failure. Dealers will inspect and repair or replace the engines free of charge. GM estimates that only about 3% of the vehicles have the defect.
